Meet Our Advisory Committee
CAMP students are mentored and taught by many individuals that are professionals in various career fields. Together, these individuals comprise an Operating Committee that is very respected and valuable to the CAMP program. The operating committee directly interacts with the students and contributes to the success of CAMP in several other ways.
John Sypek
John Sypek is President and CEO of Area Wide Protective, Kent, Ohio. Mr. Sypek joined Area Wide Protective in Sept of 2012. Prior to that, he spent 30 years in Transportation and Logistics with Roadway Express/YRC, most recently as V.P. of Operations.Mr. Sypek is a Member of CAST, and leads the initiative of the CAST Caddy/Mentor program at Glenmoor C.C., as well as other activities at ECA and TECHS.
Bruce A. DiPietro
Bruce DiPietro recently retired as Managing Director and Investment Strategist with Citigroup’s Private Bank out of New York City. He has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry focusing on portfolio and investment management. He advises individuals, families, endowments and foundations on how to design and implement customized investment strategies. Prior to joining Citi Private Bank, Bruce worked for Bank of America as Senior Vice President of Portfolio Advisory Services handling a billion dollar
Dennis Drennan
Dennis Drennan has had an exciting and rewarding career in the Real Estate field from sales to senior positions with national real estate organizations. He was responsible for over three hundred offices to owning a national real estate franchise with his wife, Fran, that ranked in the top 1% of all real estate companies in the United States. He currently is Broker Regional Manager for Howard Hanna Real Estate Services and has responsibility for 11 offices that generated almost nearly $1 billion in sales in 2012.
Jim Sage
Jim Sage is Vice President and CIO at Famous Enterprises, a nationwide distributor of plumbing, heating and building supplies. Jim has over forty years of computer and operations experience in the manufacturing, distribution, retail, health care and higher education industries. He has held senior leadership roles at Camelot Music, OfficeMax, Pioneer Electronics, Radisphere Radiology, The University of Akron and now Famous Enterprises. Jim holds an AS from Northcentral State College, a BS degree from The University of Akron and a MS degree from Emory University. Jim lives with his wife Cathy in Canton, they have three adult children. Jim states, “Success in business doesn’t come close to providing the satisfaction that one receives from helping young adults succeed.”
Debbie Myers
Debbie Myers recently retired from OMNOVA Solutions, (formerly GenCorp, General Tire). She currently has a part time consulting agreement. She was a Senior Human Resources Manager for multiple Union and Non-Union manufacturing facilities, Global Technology Center and Pilot Plant. She was Chief Spokesperson for multiple contract negotiations. She was responsible for all Human Resource activities such as: organizational development, talent acquisition/retention, succession planning, leadership development and union negotiations.
Dr. Loren Petry
Dr. Loren Petry has been a practicing General Dentist for forty years. He had been practicing with his Dad and is in the process of turning over the practice to his Son-in-law. He has been active in the community in various organizations. He has served at his church as an Adult Sunday School Teacher and has sat on the Board of a local Christian school for almost thirty years. He was Chair of the Board for four years. He believes in investing in children. They are our legacy and our future.
Marc Servodio CFP
Marc Servodio has been a financial advisor with SS&G Wealth Management LLC for more than 7 years, working with families to plan and prepare for their futures.Now that his career is underway, Mr. Servodio has a desire to share what he has learned and help others along their paths to success. For the past two years, he has participated in the University of Akron’s Financial Planning Capstone Course as a Mentor.
Molly McDougal
Molly McDougal currently serves as Content Strategist at a local marketing agency, The Karcher Group, where she helps local businesses tell their stories through digital media. She graduated from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism with a focus in strategic communication and economics. During her time at OU, Molly traveled to Chicago for an internship with a global public relations firm, Weber Shandwick. Molly also spent time in Oklahoma City working at Third Degree Advertising, a local non-profit, Infant Crisis Services. A Stark County native, Molly is passionate about getting involved and giving back to local causes. She is Chair of United Way of Greater Stark County’s Young Leaders Society, judges for Perry High School Speech and Debate and volunteers at Canton’s Players Guild Theatre. With a fervent passion for education, she is thrilled to continue her work with the incredible TECHS CAMP students.
Lesley Venturella
Lesley Venturella began her career as a Customer Service Representative at New York Telephone Company, later worked at the Phone Center Stores in Sales. She transferred to the Illinois Bell Management Development Center in Hinsdale. After several moves with her husband’s career, she chose to deliver child care services at home. She became an active volunteer throughout the country, in the various school systems that her children attended. Mrs. Venturella has served on various boards, including her Chicago Condo Association; her Hudson Homeowner’s Association and was a Board Member for Akron Children’s Services. She is a member of CAST and the Volunteer Coordinator for the J.R. Coleman Adult Day Center.
Justine Chester
Justine Chester is currently serving at Malone University as an Undergraduate Admissions Counselor where she primarily recruits students from central Ohio. She graduated from Malone University December of 2016 where she earned her B.A In Psychology with a business focus. As a 2014 TECHS/CAMP alum, Justine has also had job experience at a local doctor’s office as a clinical technician. In May of 2017, she celebrated her third year of employment at Glenmoor Country Club as a Spa Receptionist. With her experiences in admissions and CAMP, Justine enjoys and is dedicated to assisting students on their journey to success.
Tabitha Brunner
Tabitha Brunner is currently working with CAMP as the Coordinator/Advisor with TECHS. For several years she worked at Nationwide Insurance in property processing. Prior to that, she managed subsidized housing properties for families and seniors. She has volunteered in many different areas, her church as Nursery Director and Co-Christian Education Director, as well as serving as Vice President for her neighborhood association.
Dr. Mangala V. Betkerur, M.D, F.A.A.P

Dr. Mangala Betkerur is a Neonatologist; an intensive care physician for premature babies. She has served as the Director of Neonatal care units at both Timken Mercy and Aultman Hospitals. Being the first Neonatologist at Aultman, she was instrumental in developing the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to a level three providing center. Dr. Betkerur worked with all hospital personnel, CEO and Board of Trustees, in developing the unit and providing care for extremely sick premature newborns. She found this to be a challenging, exciting, and rewarding experience. Dr. Betkerur did her residency in Pediatrics and Fellowship in Neonatology at Cook County Hospital, Chicago. She is currently retired and pursuing her interest in studying Humanities and traveling and spending time with family. Her lifelong passion is spending time with young people so that she can teach and learn from them. Along with her mother and friends, she has been supporting and educating a group of disadvantaged children in India for several years. Dr. Betkerur is looking forward to working with students in the CAMP program.
Eric McKimm
Eric McKimm is Vice President of Business Development at ProTech Security. ProTech Security is over 35 years old founded by Eric’s Father, Dan McKimm. Eric joined ProTech Security in 2016 and is involved in all facets of the business, specifically focused on growth through marketing/sales and acquisition. Prior to ProTech Security, Eric spent over 9 years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber. He was most recently responsible for Finance, overseeing all company owned Goodyear Auto Service retail outlets. Additionally, Eric spent 6 years at Ernst & Young as an Auditor and Business Risk Consulting Manager. He is a Certified Public Accountant who earned his Master’s degree in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame and his undergraduate degree in Business with a major in Finance from Ohio University. Eric has been married to his wife Miranda for 14 years and has 3 daughters ages 8, 5 and 1. The McKimm’s are active members of St. Michael’s Parish in Canton.
Chet Lenartowicz
Chet retired from the Canton City School District in 2019, after 37 years in education. In his early career he was a high school mathematics, biology, and chemistry teacher at Saint Thomas Aquinas High School, Dalton High School, and McKinley High School. He also taught mathematics classes as an adjunct for the University of Akron and Walsh University. The last 25 years of his career were dedicated to the Canton City School District. During the last 13 years, he served as a building principal for Youtz Elementary, Early College High School, McKinley High School, and The Arts Academy at Summit. Chet holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Akron, a Master’s Degree from Ashland University, and is a PhD candidate at Concordia University Chicago (All But Dissertation). He also has licensure for PK-6, 4-9, and 7-12 Principal as well as Superintendent. Chet is a native of Canton and loves everything about Canton. He enjoys giving back to move forward.
Dr. Vasant N. Betkerur, M.D.
Dr. Betkerur migrated to the U.S. in 1975. He spent six years in Chicago performing Residency Training in Urology at Cook County Hospital. Dr. Betkerur moved to Canton, Ohio in 1981 and started a solo practice in Adult and Pediatric Urology with affiliation to Aultman and Mercy Hospitals in Canton and Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio. In 1995, he decided to merge his Urology practice with three other Urologists who were involved with Canton Urology Associates. After practicing for 35 years, Dr. Betkerur retired in 2016 and enjoys spending time with his family. He enjoys reading and traveling with his wife, who is retired from Neonatology Practice. He is looking forward to working with the TECHS CAMP program and contributing in any way possible.
Dennis Trenger
Dennis Trenger recently joined TECHS CAMP as Asst. Director. Additionally, he serves as Director of Early College and College Credit Plus for the Stark County ESC. He started his career at The Timken Company developing computer systems in Engineering. Dennis worked for the City of Canton as MIS Director and most recently worked 17 years at Stark State College in numerous positions. He is passionate about helping students reach their full potential and is a strong advocate for Early College. As a true believer in education, Dennis earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Walsh University, his MBA from Ashland University and an Ed.S. in Administrator Leadership from Walden University. He is excited about the opportunity to work with TECHS CAMP students.
Craig Stambaugh
Craig Stambaugh retired in 2000 from his role as President of Harwick Chemical Manufacturing. He spent 20 years with Harwick, a manufacturer and distributor of specialty chemicals to the rubber and plastics industry, with positions in sales, marketing, and management. Prior to Harwick, Craig worked as a development chemist for Firestone T&R spending more than 4 years living and working in Europe. Craig is a graduate of the University of Toledo with a BS in Chemical Engineering. Living in Virginia after retirement, he was active in the community in a variety of ways including serving as a trustee of The Williamsburg Community Foundation and on the board of trustees for Colonial CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), an organization of trained volunteers who focus on advocacy for children of abuse and neglect who are caught up in the foster care system. A student of history, Craig also spent 10 years as a volunteer tour guide at historic Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia.
Ravi Bhatia
Ravi Bhatia retired from the Timken Company at the end of 2009 with over 44 years of service. He started in the application engineering department after receiving his Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University. In his 44 year career with the Timken Company he spent about half his career in the marketing/engineering areas analyzing customer applications and proposing Timken bearing solutions. The other half he spent at Timken Research in the New Product Development area. Some of the products he worked on include; smart bearings used in vehicle Antilock Brake Systems (ABS), bearings developed for the landing gear of planes like the 747, 777, Space Shuttle and other unique applications. While working at the Timken Company, Ravi earned a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. He is also a graduate of the Program for Executives from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a past board member of the Meals on Wheels Organization. Ravi has always enjoyed working with youth groups and is a past advisor to the India Association Youth Group of Greater Stark County.
